Unlock the secret to deeper peace and purpose by pursuing holiness

Good morning,

I'm excited to dive into another week of growing greater faith with you! Today’s focus is on something foundational to our spiritual journey—holiness.

Pursuing holiness isn’t just an option; it’s a crucial step toward living fully in God's presence.

This Week’s Focus: Pursuing Holiness Brings Greater Presence

The pursuit of holiness is a willful rejection of the flesh and a pursuit of the presence of God in our lives. Holiness must be cultivated, not activated. It doesn’t just “happen” because you’ve read enough books or reached a certain level of maturity. It grows through sanctification—an ongoing process of being made holy.

To pursue holiness, we must passionately long for the character of Christ to be revealed in our lives. Think of the moon's relationship to the sun: the moon doesn’t produce light but reflects the sun’s radiance. In the same way, we reflect the radiance of the Son of God. We aren’t holy or good on our own, but as we pursue holiness, we reflect more of God’s glory in our everyday lives.

How to Pursue Holiness in Your Day:

  1. Ask the Spirit for Guidance: Begin your day by asking the Holy Spirit to reveal areas where sin or distractions might be hindering your walk with God.

  2. Reflect the Son’s Light: Throughout the day, choose to respond in ways that mirror Christ’s values—whether that’s showing kindness, patience, or forgiveness.

  3. Remove the Weeds: At the end of your day, pray and reflect on where you need God’s grace to grow. Repent of anything that’s keeping you from reflecting Him, and ask for strength to pursue holiness.

Remember, the more we pursue Christ, the more we reflect His presence in our lives. It’s not easy, but it’s always worth it.

Action Step:

This week, take time in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to show you any areas of your life that might need some “weeding.” The pursuit of holiness is a blessing, as it removes the obstacles that block us from experiencing the fullness of God’s presence.
