Ok, time to take a breath

two simple readings that will profoundly bless your day.

This week is a little different.

Over the past months I have been providing all kinds of content about growing your faith, and it has been encouraging to hear how God is using these simple teachings.

This week I want to share a simple prayer and a poem with you. In the midst of constant noise, these short readings are meant to slow down our minds and help us reflect more clearly on the Lord and the life He has given us.

Read them slowly. Take time. Enjoy

PRAYER: A Prayer for the Joy of Your Presence

Christ, my Savior, my Delight,
You are the dawn that breaks the night,
the song creation sings in endless praise.
Your Spirit moves like a gentle wind,
awakening joy in the depths of my soul.

You are the Fountain of gladness,
the wellspring that never runs dry.
In Your presence, sorrow melts like frost,
and every moment glimmers with grace.

Teach me to walk with You today,
to see the world through the lens of Your love,
to find joy in the simplest gifts—
the breath I breathe,
the work of my hands,
the faces I meet.

Let my heart leap at the thought of Your nearness,
for You are closer than the air around me.
Let my spirit dance to the rhythm of Your goodness,
for You fill the earth with Your glory.

You are the Bread that strengthens my journey,
the Wine that gladdens my heart.
Your cross has made a way to life,
and Your resurrection fills it with joy.

Christ, my companion and my King,
walk with me through this day.
Let my steps echo Your peace,
and my words carry Your light,
that I may live in the fullness of Your joy.

Amen.

POEM: Christ, My Stillness

Christ,
You walk the edges of the storm,
unmoved by its roar.
Your hands shape the wind,
Your voice quiets the waves—
I breathe,
and the chaos bends to You.

You are the root beneath the trembling earth,
the flame that does not falter.
When the world rises heavy against me,
You remain—
stronger than fear,
softer than the morning light.

I see You,
and the shadows lose their weight.
I hear You,
and my heart beats steady.
Christ, my stillness,
my song—
in You, I am whole again.

Action Step:

Take time to be still this week and read through both of these items. Allow the Lord to speak to you as your eyes move from word to word. Be still and know that He is God.
