Finding God in the Everyday Moments (Even in a Hospital Room)

Grow Greater Faith Newsletter

Good morning,

Hope you’re doing well! This is the second week of Growing Greater Faith, and I’m writing this from a hospital room as we welcome our fourth little one into the world.

What a wild time of life this is! It’s a crazy, beautiful moment, and I’m reminded of how important it is to create space for God—even in the midst of life’s biggest events.

Let’s dive into this week’s thought on making room for Him in our daily routines!

This Week’s Focus: Creating Space for God in Your Day

Life doesn’t slow down, does it? Whether it’s a new baby (like today!) or just the usual daily grind, it’s easy to let the busyness push God to the edges. But here’s the thing: we don’t need to find huge blocks of time to meet with God. Sometimes, it’s about inviting Him into the moments we already have.

Simple Ways to Make Room for God:

Here’s how you can create those sacred moments, even on the busiest days:

  1. Start Your Day with a Quick Prayer: Before the day gets away from you—whether it’s a hectic morning or a quiet one—take a minute to connect with God. A simple “Lord, guide me today” can set the tone for everything that follows.

  2. Find God in the Everyday Tasks: Whether you’re doing something as monumental as welcoming a new baby or as routine as making coffee, invite God into it. Whisper a prayer of thanks, or just acknowledge His presence in that moment.

  3. End the Day with Gratitude: At the end of the day, no matter how tired you are (trust me, I get it!), take a moment to reflect on where you saw God at work. Even on the most exhausting days, there’s something to be thankful for.

Why It Matters:

It’s not about adding more to your to-do list but about integrating God into what you’re already doing. These little moments can make a big difference in how connected you feel to Him, even when life is anything but calm.

Action Step:

This week, invite God into one specific part of your routine. It could be as simple as a prayer in the morning or a moment of gratitude at night. See how it shifts your perspective and deepens your connection with Him.
